Personal profile

I teach part-time in the Level 7 Child and Adolescent Psychotherapeutic Counselling (CAPC) and Introduction to CAPC programmes. I am a Mental Health Professional, Clinical Supervisor, and a Registered Counsellor/Psychotherapist accredited by the Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care (PSA) and the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). As a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA, Advance HE), I hold a Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education (PGCert LTHE). External to the Faculty, I am the Chair of the Psychotherapeutic Educators and Counsellors Hub (PEACH), where I collaborate with others to promote progressive discussions about learning, teaching, and educational research in the counselling and psychotherapy professions. I am also a member of the BACP Postgraduate Research Forum and the BACP Research Teaching Forum. I am a regional network lead for the Practical Wisdom Network, which was launched at St Catherine’s College, Oxford, with support from the Collaborating Centre for Values-Based Practice. Currently, I am a Doctor of Education candidate, focusing my research on the development of practice wisdom (phronesis) in learning and teaching within the counselling and psychotherapy fields. My research examines my teaching practice through Research Lesson Study (Dudley, 2019) and heuristics. I am a member of Hughes Hall.
