Personal profile

Hannah leads the Early Primary PGCE, teaching science and professional studies. She is also a personal and partnership tutor working with members of the Faculty team and school partners to support the professional development and wellbeing of students. In addition, she is the Chair of Section II Examinations overseeing the assessment of students on the practical, school-based aspects of the PGCE course.

Prior to working at the Faculty of Education, Hannah was a teacher and senior leader in London and Cambridge leading the development of pedagogy, curriculum and assessment and implementing high-quality professional learning as an entitlement for all. Alongside her work as mentor, lead mentor and induction tutor for trainee and early career teachers, she also implemented Lesson Study as a professional development practice to help teachers at all stages in their career extend their knowledge and skills for teaching through collaborative learning.

Hannah is currently completing a PhD in Education. Her research investigates the experiences of teachers working collaboratively in the classroom context and examines the processes that they use when engaged in learning from the act of teaching. Building on her own experiences in the classroom, she is also interested in how AI can be incorporated into the pedagogy and practice of teachers. As well as contributing to the PGCE course, she also supervises masters’ students on the Transforming Practice MEd.
