Personal profile

My research focusses on educational inequalities and the structural, institutional and policy mechanisms that shape children’s and young people’s life trajectories. I use linked administrative data and longitudinal surveys to generate policy-relevant evidence, with a particular attention to how education systems can either reproduce or disrupt inequality across the life course. This work informs national debates on access, attainment, progression and post-education (labour market) outcomes.

I have held senior research and policy roles across universities and UK government departments, and I am currently seconded to the Department for Education (DfE) as a Policy Fellow. This cross-sector experience enables me to operate at the interface of research and decision-making, translating complex quantitative analysis into actionable insights for government and public bodies.

My research is interdisciplinary and applied, addressing real world challenges related to the determinants of educational outcomes, including demographics, pupil background, and psychosocial factors.
